Why the name NALÙ?
Finding a name for my little B&B wasn't that easy. I mulled it over for months. I originally wanted something Italian, after all, I am in Italy. But it had to be easy to remember, especially for a German audience. I briefly thought about an English name, but immediately discarded that idea: Because Hey, I'm in Italy!
Of course, I involved the whole family in the naming process. My Dad said I should definitely have FOUR letters, short and concise, like all successful companies. At first I wasn't convinced, but in the end it just so happened that I ended up with four letters...
One morning I woke up and (like every morning) couldn't just get up straight away, because my cat LUNA had made herself comfortable on me. Then it came to me: NALU - NAtalie and LUna - the owners of the house. I didn't adopt my cat Lucifer until later, but he also has the right initials as a current co-owner should ;)
Once I googled it, I also found out that NALU also means "wave" in Hawaiian - well, if that doesn't suit Lake Garda... that is also why the rooms are named after the winds. The emphasis was added to clearly define the pronunciation - NALÙ. It should sound cute and cozy. I like the sound and, above all, the meaning. My family was also very enthusiastic about the name - so it became clear and the name was set...
All that was missing was the right little house... et voilà!
